Aparna Sindhoor Dance Theater (ASDT) is a contemporary company with wide repertoire of solo and group works in classical and contemporary dance and theater. Inspired by Indian classical and folk dance forms, theater (both Western and Indian), world music, martial arts (kalari ppayattu), aerial dance, yoga, live singing and storytelling, Sindhoor’s work is dynamic, radical, and original in style and presentation. The company has been touring all over the world including USA, Canada, Germany and India.
Sindhoor’s choreography … grounds her work in the form's basic vocabulary and style – But she also embraces Indian martial arts, yoga moves, theatrical gesture, and a modern dancer's eye for space to create dances that seem both old and new. Fanciful folk tales and tantalizing aerial feats.
