The Choreography
Nathan Andary's unique language of movement is a symbiotic fusion of Laban, Body-mind-centering, Yoga, Butoh, and Release techniques riding the support of breath and the spiral of the spine. Andary's dances are emotionally charged and are infused with a keen intelligence while described as being innovative, fluid, physical, and visually exciting. A solo piece by Andary was described by the Providence Journal as ...surreal and subtly silly. Andary uses life experiences and the cerebral voyage through the art of communication as a breeding ground for choreography and theater. His work is a fusion of traditional modern dance and Butoh theater principles. Nathan’s choreography has been performed for charitable concerts raising awareness and money for the Diabetes Foundation, the American Heart Association, and AIDS Project Rhode Island.
